Photography has always been one of my beloved activities.
My very first camera was a Lubitel 2 which although I don’t use any more, I still own it today! I treasure it as it was my photographic companion for many years! Using this camera was fascinating and some times a little frustrating, but always good fun! You could only shoot 12 photos on a roll of a 120 film and if you wanted to have any decent photographs, you had to really think well about your settings on the camera before you pressed the shutter button! You would only know the results after you've had the film developed and the photographs printed some days later!
Unless you were using a photometer, the settings on the camera were 100% your own decision!
No aperture or speed priority and definitely no automatics! As for your white balance, you were at the mercy of the film-manufacturer and the lab that would develop your film!
The truth is though, this was the best way to learn how to take photographs.
Years have gone by and photography has changed in many ways. The digital era has lifted the limits to nearly everything. The cameras have become intelligent and there is no limit to what somebody can achieve with relatively little money. You are now the photographer and the developer! There are many tools both in hardware and software to help you express your photographic creativity in every way. And... no more limits to 12 photographs on a roll!....
You can now express your feelings, your thoughts and your ideas by capturing the light as you want to capture it, having nearly unlimited help from your equipment. Your creativity and imagination are the limits!
I love photography and music because they both allow me to express myself better than I would have done in any other way. For the time being I have left music aside as it is a totally different chapter of my life.
I've decided to put this site together to share with you some of the moments of my journey capturing light. Thank you for taking the time to stop by and I hope you will find it interesting.
